INCREASING CELL ENERGY THROUGH CELL TRAINING
IHHT is described as cell training that increases the number of active and more efficient mitochondria in the cells. IHHT not only leads to an increase in cell energy, it also improves stress resistance and the organism’s ability to regenerate, and stimulates the immune system.
Oxygen is life
Oxygen is the fundamental prerequisite for producing the energy required for cell metabolism. If sufficient oxygen is available for the cells they can produce 19 times more ATP (energy) from sugar compared to simple fermentation. This high cell energy is vital for us. It is not just important for our wellbeing and performance capability, it is also essential for all metabolic processes and for cell regeneration – and thus for maintaining health and for healing.
Oygen deficiency in the cells is therefore one of the most important causes of chronic illnesses, from fatigue syndrome to cancer. The effect of IHHT is comparable to high-altitude training (up to 6,500 metres). By switching between hypoxia and hyperoxia it is actually considerably more efficient than real high-altitude training.
A fitness studio for the cells
You lie or sit completely relaxed on a couch or in a massage chair while you breathe in differing concentrations of oxygen via a mask – without effort or shortness of breath.
This change between low and high oxygen content (hypoxia to hyperoxia) exerts stress on the mitochondria, leading to the death of badly damaged mitochondria. Less damaged mitochondria regenerate and multiply as a result of the IHHT. In addition, the cells’ oxygen absorption capacity is improved, further raising cell energy levels.
IHHT is ideally supplemented with sports activities. IHHT actually has some advantages compared to sport:

Unlike sport, the body does not become over-acidic (no formation of lactic acid). On the contrary, as a result of the second phase of IHHT, during which higher oxygen concentrations are breathed in (hyperoxia), H+ ions in the extracellular matrix combine with oxygen to form water (H2O). The concentration of H+ ions corresponds to the level of acidity, so IHHT brings about very effective de-acidification – of very great benefit for many chronic illnesses.
IHHT is not hard work. It can also be carried out when sport is impossible (e.g. due to fatigue or pain).
