THERAPY OF THE DYSFUNCTIONAL ENVIRONMENT

The energy metabolism of cancer cells and healthy cells differ greatly. The generation of energy by the mitochondria (the powerhouses of the cells) in cancer cells is destroyed – so the metabolism of glucose using oxygen during cellular respiration no longer functions.

In order to obtain the high amount of energy required during growth of a tumour, cancer cells exploit an alternative and less efficient metabolic pathway: the fermentation of glucose in the cytoplasm. The resultant lactic acid is transported to the intercellular tissue (the extracellular matrix) where it forms a protective layer of acid around the cancer cell, making treatment of the cancer more difficult:ung auswirkt:

  • The protective layer of acid around the cancer cell prevents attacks from immune cells (e.g. natural killer cells and macrophages), which can neither recognise nor destroy cancer cells in an acidic environment.
  • The protective layer of acid also reduces the effectiveness of chemotherapies and radiotherapy (Schwab et al., 2011)
  • Moreover, the high level of acid formation greatly assists cancer cells in penetrating healthy tissue – or tissue impacted by chemotherapy and radiotherapy – to form metastases. It has been shown that patients die earlier as a result of this (Grimm et al., 2013).

Therapy of the dysfunctional (hyper-acidic) environment
of the extracellular matrix in general is of paramount importance.
We use three substances to treat this:

DCA (DICHLOROACETATE)

DCA reactivates the pyruvate dehydrogenase enzyme complex which enables pyruvate, an intermediate product of glucose fermentation in cytoplasm, to enter the mitochondria – reducing, and eventually stopping, the formation of lactic acid. Less damaged mitochondria can recover and resume energy generation via cell metabolism, while the more seriously damaged mitochondria die off when DCA is applied in combination with an additional cytotoxic treatment (e.g. amygdalin).

ProcCluster®

ProcCluster® is a further development of the classic procaine-alkaline infusion. Whereby it has proved possible to bond procaine directly with the alkaline buffer sodium bicarbonate (to form a cluster). The effect of procaine and sodium bicarbonate is thus deployed directly in the extracellular matrix. The two working together increase the pH level here (neutralisation), weakening the tumour cells’ protective layer of acid. Procaine is also vasodilatory, anti-proliferative (reduces tumour cell growth), as well as anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative (neutralises free oxygen radicals). In addition, procaine reactivates the hyper-methylation of p53 and bcl-2, which are proteins important in combatting cancer.

Germanium

Acidic environments contain more H+ ions. These combine with the oxygen atoms of organic germanium, leading to de-acidification of the extracellular matrix.

Rebuilding vitality

Most cancers, particularly in the more advanced stages, impair the body’s vitality. Some therapies are an additional burden. The restoration of vitality is of central importance for quality of life and improving the prognosis.

The aim is to improve mitochondrial cellular respiration, and thus the generation of cellular energy. At our clinic, we use the following methods for this:

  • Treatment with targeted electromagnetic frequencies using vital field technology.
  • High-dose infusions with vitamins, minerals, trace elements and amino acids.
  • Targeted substitution of important vital nutrients by use of dietary supplements between therapy sessions.

Chemotherapy frequently causes chronic fatigue because many substances disturb the functioning of the mitochondria. The methods of mitochondrial medicine can make a valuable contribution towards strengthening the whole body.
